ipad-browsers

In today’s video, we’ll be talking about third party browsers for the iPad. Before we start though it’s important to bear in mind that all of the third party browsers are based upon webkit rendering and the webkit Javascript engine – that is to say that they are essentially just layers on top of the Safari core. Some browsers like Opera Mini mix this up a bit by compressing the page in the cloud before rendering it, but if you’re hoping to find a native version of Chrome here – well you’re not going to. What separates these browsers are the features...

Opera has just updated its desktop web browser to version 21, and with it, a great deal of speed has been added. Its ‘Aura’ hardware acceleration engine promises to speed up animations and provide a smoother web browsing experience for its users on both Mac and Windows. Opera’s technology is not actually in use in the Mac release of the browser, instead it’s using Apple’s core animation features, which ends up providing the same benefits as Aura. Speed is generally a huge factor that Internet users consider when determining which browser to run in their daily life, so making these...

Posted: 08 May 2014 09:00 AM PDT

It seems today that all you see are purchases in software, for in-app currency – but where are those “pay once, play forever” values on which we used to rely?
