evolution of batmobile feat

Batman’s Batmobile is a true icon. Over the years, we’ve seen a variety of Batmobiles. You probably wanted the one from Tim Burton’s movies — the crazy Batmobile fitted with a jet turbine engine, rear afterburner, and hidden machine guns. Personally, I don’t care much for the Batmobile in Joel Schumacher’s Batman and Robin, but to each is own. Heck, I would love to drive TV Batman Adam West’s Batmobile — that is cool. Everyone loves to take photos. It’s a way to remember the events that happen throughout our lives, so we can go back years later and take in all the cool stuff we did. Managing the large amount of photos we take can seem like a full time job. We have to find a place to store them, edit anything that might be wrong with them, and if we want to be truly creative, actually do something interesting with them, besides just sharing them to social media. This is where photo software comes into play, and today we are going to...

Just How Dangerous Is It To Share Your Information On Facebook?

Posted: 18 Jul 2014 11:00 AM PDT

personal-data-facebook

I don’t think you need us to tell you by now about the risks of revealing too much on Facebook. In light of the NSA revelations, people are becoming more security-conscious and being more careful about what they say and reveal online. However, despite knowing the pitfalls, some people still insist on telling the whole world via Facebook what they did with their day. From a security point of view, telling everyone you ate Sugar Puffs for breakfast, or posting a photo of your belly button lint, isn’t going to get you into hot water. But the following might. Checking...

What Is RSS and How Can It Improve Your Life?

rss-improve-life

An ancient Web technology beats the pants off news delivery from social media. In truth, Facebook and Google+ don’t deliver true news. Social media content arrives late and at random; it’s not tailored to your needs and lacks organization. Many denizens of Facebook don’t know that a better technology exists that absolutely thrashes social media in efficiency, organization and utility. Just three simple words can change the way you use and consume information – forever: Really Simple Syndication, or RSS. Functioning like a customizable, digital newspaper, RSS benefits almost everyone – from working professionals wanting to keep abreast of the...

cleaning windows pc

Overzealous PC cleaning can break things, but some cleaning will help you free up space and keep your system running quickly. Trimming down those unnecessary temporary files you don’t need is particularly crucial if you have a small solid-state drive and you want to make the most of its storage. Windows Disk Cleanup Windows has a built-in Disk Cleanup tool, which you can access in several ways. For example, you could open File Explorer or Windows Explorer, right-click a disk like your C: drive, select Properties, and click the Disk Cleanup button. How To Try Ubuntu’s Upcoming Desktop Right Now

Posted: 18 Jul 2014 08:00 AM PDT

unity-8-new

The Unity desktop you know and (maybe) love has its days numbered. Canonical is at work on Unity 8, which looks more to revolutionize the desktop shell rather than just evolve it. While it’s still quite a while away from being the default desktop on your next Ubuntu installation, curious folks can try it out right now if they’d like. Here’s how and what to expect so far with the new desktop. Why Is Unity Changing? While I don’t think Canonical has anything against the current Unity desktop, it has much bigger plans in store. The company has been working...

When you’re comparing different mobile devices, whether they’re phones, tablets, e-readers, or laptops, one of the differentiating features can be the display technology. But do you know the difference between OLED and AMOLED? What about LCD and e-ink? This guide will get you up to speed. Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and Retina Liquid crystal is a fascinating substance that has molecular properties of both liquids and solids — the application of an electrical current affects those properties, allowing more or less light to pass through a particular pixel, creating a gray scale. In a full-color display, each pixel has three...

Civilization 5 will be four years old this September. Since it launched in 2010, it has enjoyed widespread critical acclaim, seen two big game changing expansions, and offered numerous faction and map packs. According to Steam’s statistics, the game still fields over 50,000 concurrent players on most days, and rarely leaves the list of the 10 most played games. If you’ve never played it, you owe yourself the pleasure of picking up the latest entry in one of the most addictive franchises in PC gaming. On the other hand, if you’ve already poured hundreds of hours of rapt attention into...

RAVPower RP-WCN11 Wireless Power Bank Review and Giveaway

Posted: 18 Jul 2014 05:30 AM PDT

ravpower wcn11 review feat

The $54.99 RAVPower RP-WCN11 provides a portable means of powering your gadgets — and it includes wireless, inductive charging using the Qi standard. It works with any device compatible with the Qi standard, such as the Nexus 7 and 5. To my knowledge, no similar power bank exists, however around the 5,000 mAh power bank market segment, there’s the $39.89 Vaas VM50, which offers dual output ports. Generic Qi-chargers, on the other hand, run for around $20 on Amazon, although they lack the WCN11′s efficacy and added features. In terms of pricing, it’s more in line with the $68 8,000 mAh...
